*From PACG President Ron Quay:*

The PACG Board will hold a special Board meeting this week to decide to
consider setting up a new 501c3 organization which will retain the name of
Progressive Action for the Common Good.

We are doing this because the vast majority of the work we do...motivating
people to take responsibility, educating and activating people, recommending
public policy ...is allowable under a charitable 501c3. This would
allow donors to get a tax donation for the majority of their contributions
and allow us to apply for foundation grants.

We will continue to keep our 501c4 status which covers the current kinds of
lobbying we do to try to promote progressive change: opposing the war,
keeping the environment clean, working for universal health care, etc.

If we decide to go forwrard, we need to come up with a new name for the
most direct political activity of our group, which will be covered by our
501c4.

*We would like your help with this....please use your creative minds and
email us suggestions re what the name for our lobbying activities might
be....we want to avoid using the words 'foundation', "political action
committee" as those have certain legal connotations which do not accurately
describe our activities. So brainstorm and send in suggestions!!!*

*Email those suggestions to jlee6367 at yahoo.com. Thanks.*
