  Friends,

As many of you already know, long time Scott County Auditor, Karen
Fitzsimmons passed away earlier this week due to complications from
pneumonia. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family...

We will be sending flowers to the family on behalf of everyone at PACG.

Memorials in Karen's honor are suggested to NAMI or the St. Patrick's
Society of the Q.C. Scholarship Fund.

   Karen L. Fitzsimmons, 59, Scott County Auditor and civic leader in
Davenport and Scott County died Wednesday April 2, 2008 at Genesis Medical
Center West Campus following a brief illness and complications of pneumonia.

Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
April 5, 2008 at Christ the King Chapel on the campus of St. Ambrose
University, 518 W. Locust Street, Davenport.

Karen has been Auditor of Scott County since 1977, one of the longest
serving female elected officials in the state of Iowa. She served the county
for over thirty-two years and was admired for her dedication to her job, as
well as to her employees who serve the citizens of Scott County.

"Karen never met a stranger, she was known for her beaming smile, twinkling
eyes, and her ever-ready hug. She exuded a natural charm and was a mother
figure to many over the years. Karen always treated you as an equal no
matter your station or status in life".
