The momentum for serious health care reform is growing, but serious and
constructive change requires real involvement at the grassroots level...
Here are two ways for you to get active now:
1. The SCHIP program, which helps fund health care coverage for several
million children, and which could cover several million more with the
expansions passed by both houses of Congress, is up for reauthorization at
the end of September--but under threat of a Presidential veto. Contact your
Senators and member of Congress and tell them to stand fast to override any
veto; the health of children should NOT be held hostage to political
ideology.
2. If you live in IOWA, come listen and SPEAK when former governors
Branstad and Vilsack hold a public hearing on behalf of the Legislative
Commission on Affordable Health Care Plans for Small Businesses and
Families:
6-8 PM, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007
Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency
729 21st St, Bettendorf;
Registration for those who wish to speak for a maximum of 3 minutes begins
at 5:30.
