Friends,
Our Young Leaders forum will be meeting this Sunday, 4pm
*at the Rogalski Center (in the Ballroom) at St Ambrose University - 4pm.*
*Mark your calendars* - The next two working meetings will be Sunday, Sept
16th, 4pm and Sunday, Sept 23rd, also at 4pm. I will send out a notice
of the building and room numbers once we secure it.
This forum has been working hard on preparing for our big Bash which is
intended to be a kick-off event to introduce the Young Leaders forum of PACG
to the broader community -- the theme is centered around civic engagement
(why it's important).
We have been working on securing co-sponsorship and resources as well as
developing the workshops and entertainment. Things are really coming
together but our Young Leaders could sure use your help -- we have a lot
more work to do so please join us on Sunday so we can fill you in on all of
the exciting developments. We are hoping that each of our issue forums will
have a table at the event as we hope to feed those interested into the work
you are doing. The Health Care Reform Forum will be collecting handprints.
Forum leaders, please contact me for more details.
We have placed an ad in the special edition of The River Cities Reader which
will be in the Sept 12th edition (next Wednesday) -- be sure to pick up a
copy. We also had 50 posters printed and 400 hand bills. These are pretty
generic but they look great and it's a means to start promoting the event.
Next week we will have more posters printed they include a list of our
co-sponsors and perhaps the entertainment, the event theme, and some of the
door prizes... we'll also print an additional 1000 to 2000 handbills for all
of you to hand out at that time.
Even if you are not able to attend the meetings at the times we have
scheduled, you can still contribute significantly by helping us promote this
event so spread the word, talk it up, get folks interested and excited
about our Back-To-School Bash and Young Leaders Conference at Scott
Community College, Belmont Campus, 11am - 6pm, September 29th.
Attached, is a flyer that promotes the event... print it and share
generously. If you have a recommendation of where we can hang a poster,
preferably a high traffic area, please let me know and I will be sure to get
the posters into your hands.
Now is the time to make the *BIG PUSH*.
