UE Local 1174 - Locked-Out of Quad City Die Casting
After months of negotiations for a new contract, management  at Quad City
Die Casting locked out members of UE Local 1174 on July 26th, 2007.
Management is demanding that future hires be part-time or temporary workers.
instead of paying decent salaries and benefits, the company wants to load up
the plant with workers making less money and no benefits. Rotating temporary
workers through dangerous foundry conditions is a recipe for disaster.

What you can do to help:

1. Call QC Die casting president Drew DeBray at (309) 762-7346 and demand
that the company end the lock-out, return to the bargaining table and keep
good jobs in the Quad Cities.

2. Visit the picket line every Monday morning at 6am, QC Die Casting, 3800
River Dr in Moline.

3. Contribute to the UE Local 1174 lockout fund. Contributions can be sent
to UE Local 1174, c/o Financial Secretary Bill Peterson, 2001 44th St,
Moline, IL 61265
