The PACG Health Care Reform Forum will hold its first meeting of 2007 from
7-9 PM, Tuesday, January 16, in the Board Room of the Unitarian Church, 3707
Eastern Ave., Davenport. This meeting will kick off our efforts to make
2007 a year of real improvements in guaranteeing quality and affordable
health care for residents of Iowa, Illinois, and the U.S. How we do this is
very much a reflection of the grassroots character of PACG, so even if you
haven't been to a previous meeting, come to this one and give your input on
ways we can move the agenda forward.
Part of the time at Tuesday's meeting will be used for a discussion of the
program for this year's upcoming FamiliesUSA Conference in Washington D.C,
January 25-27: Health Action 2007, National Grassroots Meeting. The
opening speaker will be Senator Barack Obama. The details of the conference
are at the FamiliesUSA website:
http://ga3.org/familiesusa/events/conference2007/details.tcl Three of the
members of the PACG Health Care Reform Forum, Dr. Alta Price, Dr. Peter
Metcalf, and Karen Metcalf, will be attending that conference along with
Shirley McLemore, Board President of United Neighbors and chair of the
Multi-Cultural Health Initiative of that organization. If you're
interested, please take a look at the program and then come to the meeting
on Tuesday to tell us the kind of information you'd like us to bring back.
Hope to see you tonight!
Karen Metcalf
