[Pacg] Help US deliver letters / photo petitions to Rep Braley tomorrow

On Thursday, February 22nd, at noon, members of MoveOn, PACG, and DFA-Quad
Cities in Davenport will be hand delivering letters to Congressman Braley
with the message, "You're the Decider" -- urging the Congressman not only to
vote against the president's plan but also to stop the president from
escalation of the war. This event follows on the heels of Republicans in the
Senate, once again, blocking debate and a vote on a non-binding resolution
opposing the president's escalation.

Last week's vote was a great first step, but it's not enough. If the
president won't listen to the people, Congress must stop the escalation and
bring our troops home.  If you are unable to attend this gathering on
Thursday, please consider attending the Open House on Friday and tell
Congressman Braley directly what YOU think is important.

The letter writing began last week during 1200 nationwide screenings of The
Ground Truth (you may recall, we featured this film last fall during Social
Justice Movie Night - a "must see" which is available in our PACG Lending
Library).  Congressman John Murtha (D-PA) addressed tens of thousands of
MoveOn members across the country, online, in an effort to help block
President Bush's attempt to escalate his failed policy in Iraq.  Local
constituents participated in a screening of The War Tapes at the Davenport
Unitarian Church last Friday -- one of hundreds of similar screenings around
the country hosted by Democracy for America.

Photo petitions will also be delivered to Congressman Braley's office. These
unique petitions show the faces of constituents instead of a signature.
Similar petitions will be delivered over the next week to Congressman Phil
Hare and the Senators of Iowa and Illinois.

It is very important that we ALL weigh-in on this issue - it is after all, a
matter of life and death for so many.
