*OFFICE OF ENERGY INDEPENDENCE - CLIMATE CHANGE ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING -
STATE LEGISLATIVE ISSUES*

The Iowa Office of Energy Independence will submit its plan to the Iowa
Power Fund Board for approval today, December 3rd at their meeting in Des
Moines - at the Iowa Utilities Board office, 350 Maple Street.  The Iowa OEI
will be launching a new website this week as well.  *The Climate Change
Advisory Council will hold their next meeting on Monday, December 17th in
the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport starting at 9:00
AM.  This is a critical opportunity for this community to raise our voice
and call for strong global warming solutions that reduce carbon dioxide 80%
below 1990 levels by the year 2050 and protect those already struggling to
pay higher energy costs.*  More information can be found at

energy efficiency has endorsed an excellent energy efficiency standard of
1.5% a year over the next ten years.  You can find contact information for

support energy efficiency, renewable energy, and strong global warming
pollution reduction targets as we approach the start of the 2008 Legislative
Session.
