Friends,

The PACG Peace Forum is seeking volunteers who are willing to hold one of
our new yard signs while marching in the East Moline Labor Day Parade next
Monday, September 3rd.

The parade line up will be in the parking lot of the old East Moline
CASE-New Holland plant on 12th Ave between 1st and 3rd St (the entrance is
off 3rd St). Line-up begins at 10am and the parade will start promptly at
11am. Upon arrival, let the organizers know you are with "PACG" and they
will direct you accordingly.

We are asking EVERYONE to hold one of our new yard signs that say
either "Neighbor
for Peace" or "End the War" -- what a beautiful sea of blue and white that
will be -- but we need as many participants as possible in order to have the
powerful impact that we seek. This is an awesome opportunity to make a
strong statement and hopefully promote our yards signs so we can get more of
them out into the broader community. Now is the time to mobilize and come
together, united for peace and against this war! We would like to have at
least 100 walkers carrying our signs - that would most likely make us the
largest contingent in the parade - let's do this!

WE NEED YOU! Please RSVP to Caroline ASAP if you are willing to walk in the
parade.

Also, we are allowed to have 2 vehicles in the parade (must be
"union-made"). Please let me know if you would be willing to drive your
vehicle as there will be some participants who are not able to walk the
entire route.

After the parade, you won't want to miss the annual Labor Day picnic
at Illiniwek
Park in Hampton, IL. No cost to attend the picnic but tickets are $7 for a
truly scrumptious chicken dinner - only $4 for children under 12. Beer,
soda and water sold separately. Illiniwek Park is located right off of Route
84 in Hampton. From the QC, take Hwy 92 all the way through Hampton - the
park will be on the left hand side. Please note that Hwy 92 shoots off to
the left from 19th St in East Moline. Lunch is served at 11:30 and the
program starts at 1:15.

We have gotten permission to sell our yards signs at the Labor Day picnic so
if you haven't yet picked one up, here's another opportunity to get the
latest in progressive lawn decor. :-)

Thanks for all you!
