 *Monday Environmental Meeting - April 30th*, *6:30 P.M.*

**
*Will try to do earlier 6:30 P.M. meetings for a while to see if this works
better for folks now that warm weather is here.*

We will be discussing attending the Thursday May 3 meeting of the Scott
County Board of Supervisors. On their agenda will be public input regarding
the permit application for an expansion by 2 hog confinement buildings in
Lincoln Township/Section 4. Within a couple of miles of the new Lost Grove
Lake that the State of IOWA spent nearly 18 years acquiring land to build.

*So please come to our meeting Monday April 30* so we can assess who would
like to speak regarding this.

*Please invite those who are concerned about an animal confinement coming to
an area near them.*
 **
*If you go to **www.northscottpress.com*
<http://www.northscottpress.com/>*you can take their survey which
asks:
*
**
*"Will the hog confinement facilities that have been proposed in Scott
County be good neighbors and beneficial to the community?"*

So take part in the survey and pass it along to others ...Thanks..Molly
Thanks...Molly

AC*TION ALERT!

*
Anne Dougherty (pronounded Dockerty) is the Environmental Contact in
Senator Dick Durbin's-IL office.
(217) 492.4062. She is usually available Mon/Tues/Fri. The Springfield
address is: 525 So. Eighth St. 62703. Their fax is (217) 492.4382

I spoke with Senator Durbin in March & explained the situation with the
wetlands in Rock Island county re Triumph. I also mentioned that information
& a CD of the area had been sent to his office in the past year.
I mentioned that HUD money has reportedly been given as part of an incentive
of what Triumph is to receive in assisting them in building their hog
slaughterhouse.
He said he did not recall looking at that information. So please, anyone
with time, contact Ann at Senator Durbin's office and bring this to her
attention.

What we need is documentation that HUD money & what amount has been
earmarked or forwarded to Triumph.

Thanks...Molly
