*QC Peace March  Thursday May 3, 2007  5:30-7 PM*

*We will have a very important peace march on Thursday, May 3rd, starting at
5:30 PM. We hope to meet at 14th and Main in Davenport but are still
awaiting confirmation on our gathering location. Meanwhile, please mark your
calendars and stay tuned for further details.

*We will have this March in response to our ongoing despair over the lack of
strong action to end this war which has no hope of* *making us or the Iraqi
people safer.*
**
ALL OF OUR MARCHES AND VIGILS HAVE BEEN PEACEFUL, RESPECTFUL AND
APPRECIATIVE OF THE SACRIFICES OF OUR TROOPS.

* We will be calling on our elected leaders to stand up to the President in
light of his promise to veto the bill to continue funding for the war with
reasonable timetables and benchmarks for ending our involvement in the Iraqi
civil war, created by our preemptive invasion of this country which posed us
no threat.*

*PLEASE STAND UP FOR A PLAN TO END THE WAR.*

*We will march down Main Street to Senator Grassley's office at 3rd and
Main. (This is a 12 block walk downhill). The Senator needs to be implored
to become one of the 16 votes needed to overturn the President's veto.  *
**
*You can meet us at 3rd and Main of you are unable to march.  We should be
at 3rd and Main around 6:15- 6:30. *
**
*Our messages will be simple:  Overturn the Veto/ Congress: Stand Firm/ End
the War /Bush Refuses to Listen/ Democracy Begins at Home/ This War Has Not
Made Us Safer   *

*We will be making signs on Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 1 PM at the
Unitarian Church at 3707 Eastern Ave in Davenport.  We will provide signage.
*

*We will gather Thursday at  5:30 **as we did for the last march down Main
Street, we will encourage people to park at the Bicentennial Building at 4th
and Western between 5 and 5:30 and we will have drivers there to drive
people up the hill; your car will then be downtown at the end of the march.
If you can help with driving people up the hill from 5 - 5:30, contact

wishes of the majority of the American people.*
