[Pacg] Gun Manufacturer seeks to exploit loophole in IL legislation - Le Claire Citizens need out help!

We need immediate response from anyone in the Le Claire area who will get
involved in working to keep the Les Baer Custom, Inc., semi-automatic
handguns and rifles manufacturer out of Le Claire.  The location which the
City has offered Mr. Baer for $10,000.00 is immediately adjacent to the
Primary Iowa Visitor Center, one block from an apartment house, two blocks
from a primary condo association.  This location is an unacceptable area for
any kind of industrial business, and especially a semi-automatic weapons
manufacturer.  It is obvious that Mr. Baer is trying to circumvent the
pending Illinois legislation banning all manufacturing and distribution of
all semi-automatic weapons in the state.  The legislation DOES NOT prohibit
the importation of the weapons from other states.  Therefore, Mr. Baer is
trying to locate where his "pipeline" will be able to continue to operate.

Please give your support by attending the Le Claire City Council meeting on
Monday, April 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Le Claire
City Hall, 325 Wisconsin Street.  Every voice to just speak against this
proposal to locate the gun manufacturer in our area is vital to our
success.  Private individuals have made an offer of $10,500.00 to purchase
this property to leave it in its natural state. Help keep this property out
of the hands of a gun manufacturer.
