The notice comes via Lee Mickey of North Liberty who was a Prisoner of
Conscience (6 months in prison) for her civil disobedience in protesting the
existence of the School of the Americas at Fort Benning, Ga.

On April 28-29, the First Mennonite Church in Iowa City is hosting a
workshop entitled "Creating a Culture of Peace".
The curriculum for this peace education program was developed by the
interfaith organization, Fellowship of Reconciliation, and the actual
curriculum used in this program is from Pace e Bene. Complete information
about this workshop, with schedule, registration form and facilitator
information, can be found at
 www.firstofiowacity.ia.us.mennonite.net/First_Mennonite/Peace_Workshop.
I doubt if we could find a better program on non-violence than this as they
have had much experience in doing these workshops and the facilitators are
very skilled. Personally, I think it is a week-end that will go a long way
in developing our understanding of what non-violence really is and how we
can learn to become non-violent.

Peace, Lee Mickey
