Attention women! April 24, 2007 is Equal Pay Day, the date by which you
will have earned as much money as your male counterpart earned by December
31, 2006.

Economist Evelyn Murphy, president of The Wage Project, estimates that over
a lifetime (47 years of full time work) a women will experience the
following loss in wages: $700,000 for a high school graduate; $1.2 million
for a college graduate; and $2 million for a professional school graduate.

Learn how to stop this trend during the Show me the Money: Unlock Your
Earning Potential workshop hosted by a panel of successful women focusing on
effective ways to utilize negotiation & communication skills to close the
wage gap.

Workshop: Saturday, April 21

8:30am - 3:30pm

United Way of the Quad Cities Area

3247 East 35 Street Court, Davenport, IA

The workshop - sponsored and supported by the American Association of
University Women, Iowa Commission on the Status of Women, Quad City
Federation of Labor AFL-CIO, Quad Cities National Organization for Women,
PACG Women's Issues Forum, and Progressive Action for the Common Good - will
include a discussion of hot skills in the workforce and how to market those
skills, interview strategies/wage negotiation skills, gender communication
and the worth and risks of benefits and their affect on salary packages.

To register, please contact Amy Barnett at United Way at 563.355.4310 at *
abarnett at unitedwayqc.org*. There is a $5 registration fee for the workshop.
A continental breakfast and a lunch will be provided.
